RIDE ALERT: There will be a group leaving for the ABATE 1 Swap Meet on Saturday February 18th. That is this coming Saturday.

Meet at the Exxon at Exit 129 off I-40 in Conway at Highway 65.

KSU at 8:15am! Be gassed & ready to ride... Plan is to get there early before the "swap" items are all gone.

THERE WAS A GOOD TURN OUT at the February general meeting. We made a donation of $1,000.00 to the Faulkner County Red Cross from proceeds of the ROAR Into Toad Suck Rally. David McClellan presented the check to Wayne Denson, Executive Director or the North Central Arkansas Service Center. The funds will remain in Faulkner County to be used for helping those in need.

After the tornados last spring the Red Cross served 60,000 meals in just two weeks. We were told that on average four houses burn in Arkansas every day. The Red Cross help those home owners with housing, clothing & more. For those in military service the Red Cross reaches out when there is illness or death at home. They also reach out to the families of service men & women when there is a crises overseas.

CIRCLE THE STATE WITH ABATE
June 2 & 3, 2012

This ride is open to all riders with a $20.00 donation to ABATE for the ride & $10.00 for t-shirt (t-shirt optional). Plans are still in process, the ride will start in Monticello & end in Hot Springs. There will be an over night stay in Mountain View. Riders may join in or drop out of the ride at any point.

ABATE Arkansas print newsletter will now be printed by the prison system. This should save a little bit of money overall on the printing end of it. We still need everyone that can get to the newsletter on-line or by e-mail to do so. Every newsletter not snail mailed saves that much more.

HATS OFF TO DALLAS PROVIN! Coming out from Little Rock on I-40 take a look at mile marker 132... just on over to the right you will see a BIG "Look Twice" sign. That is the handy work of Dallas & placed on his own property.

Dallas did most the labor himself & put in about $500.00 of his own money to cover the cost. All riders should appreciate the effort & thought that went into this sign.

If you would like to contribute to help expenses it would be appreciated. Dallas says if he gets more than he spent on the sign he will donate it back to ABATE 17. He has received donations of $60.00 so far. Look twice & save a life guys.
